Robot love statistics

Astute readers (and those with the ability to scroll down slightly) will remember my paper on Karl Marx and emotional labour that I recently wrote for a sociology course. It turns out that my grandiloquent self-praise was not so overblown as I previously thought. My TA tells me that further research on my topic could be done, perhaps warranting a full-blown study. This left me in a state of shock, to say the least. Updates will be posted as they come.

Now, in the stead of applying my intellect to an appropriate topic at hand, I diverge once more. I should be studying for a statistics test, worth 50% of my mark in the course. Considering that this course is important to my standing in the program as a whole, it is worth approximately 12.465% of my undergraduate career. And yet, I continue to ramble. Keep in mind that I do this for your benefit, and not mine, as the numbers have just proven.

I have been organizing an event for a group which I am increasingly involved with. This event is titled GOD AND EVOLUTION: Is Intelligent Design Ruining Science Education? (Spoiler: Yes.) If you are interested in this event, I highly suggest that you attend – the price is a meagre $4 and the speakers are not being reimbursed for their time. Tickets can be purchased here. Organizing this has been a harrowing endeavor for myself – I would appreciate it if as many people as possible came. Tell your friends! Whore yourself shamelessly! Etc.

One final thing, now that such sordid matters are behind us. My literary fever has struck again – symptoms include headache and neck stiffness. Upon further consideration, this may be some less comical illness that should be diagnosed by a medical profession. My real writing fever has prompted me to begin writing anew. Giraffes have been abandoned, sadly — to languish in the void until I decide to finish their tale. Shortly I will post an excerpt from my most recent attempt. I would appreciate criticism, preferably of the kind that assists me in some manner.

Now, I bid you adieu, returning to a dark cave populated by chi-squares, normal curves, and variables of every shape and size. I only hope that you must never follow me into this cave — for it consumes all who enter, without exception.

Internet Duel!

In light of inactivity on both the part of myself and my friend Connor, I have proposed a challenge. We both have a skill at writing on topics that would shatter smaller men, topics of such magnitude that great minds have pondered them for nought. Thus, we shall take up this unanswered call, this mantle, in a sporting fashion.

What I require from you, oh readers, is a topic on which we shall write, competing in a veritable bloodsport of literary furor. Suggestions should be left here. Once a topic is decided upon, come back and view the results. Only good can come of this!

Hello everyone, how are you doing today? That is of course a rhetorical question since this is the Internet and this is my place to talk about my day, not yours! Oh man I am so losing patience with trying to indent all my paragraphs, so maybe I won’t anymore. DAMN YOU ENGLISH CLASSES AND IMPLANTING URGES TO INDENT.

Do you remember about that telemarketing job I was talking about recently? Well I also recently quit that very same job. Telemarketing is not for me. $150 however, is for me, for my week of telemarketing. It is sometimes disturbing how fast money can disappear. Over the weekend I seem to have lost about $80 on things.

I actually got away with spending almost zero yesterday at the Toronto Gay Pride Parade. If you were there then I am sure you will agree with me that it was pretty fabulous. I wanted to pick one of my pictures that I took (there were like, 200) and I could have gone for something extravagant with feathers and glitter, but that would be the obvious answer. So I decided on this one, since it seems to have photographic merit on its own.

Okay if you don’t want to see some guy dancing then you might have wanted to close your eyes about two seconds ago. Anyway I am pretty confidant when I say that you are not as awesome as him, and I am not even being sarcastic. My only complaint is the Green Party poster in the background…that is an INCONVENIENT TRUTH har har har oh man I want to see that movie.

Alright one more thing for this post and that is Devo 2.0. Okay so I am not the biggest Devo fan in the world, I just own their Greatest Hits album and that is it. But it is one thing to change “Girl U Want” to “Boy U Want” and another to basically strip all the subtle lyrics and replace them with family-friendly crap. I AM STARTING AN INTERNET PETITION AGAINST DEVO 2.0 WHO IS WITH ME?
